It's July already? Ju-lyn!
Here are 20 activities you and others can do on the 4th of July.
1. Watch the sunrise 🌞
Wake up early to watch the sunrise, pray morning prayer, and give thanks for another beautiful day and a free country.
2. Go on a bike ride
I love bike rides with my father. Maybe after watching the sunrise you could go on a bike ride with a friend or family. As long as the temperature isn't too high, this could be a very fun activity. Oh! Oh! And drink lots of water!
3. Go to an American History museum or monument
Yep! Why not appreciate America's history on the 4th of July. Go to a museum, historic area, monument, the USS Alabama, etc. **note: I actually went to the USS Alabama for the 4th of July last year and I had a blast.**
4. Watch a good movie about American History
Can't go out? No problem! Just stay in. Rent, buy or catch a good American history movie. I loved watching these in my history class at school! You can make it a family event too. Grab some popcorn and get together. *warning: some of these movies are graphic so be sure to read a little bit about them first*
5. Watch a good movie about history in America
OK, so maybe the history movies weren't your cup of tea. Try a movie about the "American dream." Two of my favorites are Cinderella Man and Hidden Figures.
6. Make tie-die shirts
How fun to make your own shirts and them be red, white and blue.
7. Make tie-die cupcakes
Baking is already fun, so why not make some patriotic cupcakes? I like the marble cupcakes where the same cake batter is died in red and blue, put in cupcake liners, and swirled with a tooth pick. Pinterest can help you with this one! I really like the tie-die.
8. Pray and give thanks 💙💙
With family and friends in thanksgiving pray for our country and pray for its future. Our country was founded on Christian values. Pray for the Christian (and Catholic) values in America.
9. Take a swim
This is probably in the plans of many people already. If you can, go for a swim. Cool off. Relax and enjoy this break.
10. Water balloons
Swimming isn't an option? Water balloons! Water balloons are always fun. Grab some friends, family and LOTS of water balloons.
BONUS: while you're picking up some water balloons at the store grab a water gun or two.
11. Have a dance party 💃💃💃
Honestly, I don't really like to dance, but this is still a good one.
12. Go fishing 🎣
Again, I don't really do this, but I still know it is fun. Go fishing.
13. Fireworks
Fireworks are pretty cool and patriotic. Go watch some red, white and blue sky explosives.
14. Go to mass
What better way to celebrate that to celebrate with Jesus? Whoop whoop!
15. Play a card game
Wanna play some Uno? Play a card game maybe while food cooks or even after eating.
16. Go to an amusement park🎢
Amusement parks are adventurous. Go on a 4th of July adventure. 😄😉
17. Look at the night sky ☆☆
Just like the sunrise, take some time and look at the night sky.
18. Do something in your city's downtown area
Watch a live show, eat local, shop local, have local fun. Take a visit to your own town!
19. Have a cookout
Food is so good. Cook some good food and enjoy family and friends (and food).
20. Share M4M with a friend
If you really liked these then share it with a friend or friends and maybe you could do a couple with your friend(s).
BONUS:
21. S'mores 🔥🍫
Make a fire, eat s'mores, watch fireworks!
Happy 4th of July, friends! God bless us and be safe!
In faith,
Britney Diaz-Roman
