"A friend is one of the nicest things you can have and one of the best things you can be."
I just wanted to share with you today a little encouragement, a reflection on friendship in tough times, and some pretty pics. 😊
As these troubling times continue, let's find encouragement in the beauty around us. First of all, we have Our Lord, Jesus Christ, no matter where we are and no matter what happens. Even though we still may be unable to visit Him in Adoration, we can visit Him in the tabernacle of our heart and send our guardian angel to Mass. Jesus is always there for you. Don't forget to take time with Him and thank Him for His many blessings.
Next, look out your window or step outside your door. There is so much beauty all around us. God has given the sunshine, the blue sky, the animals, birds, trees, and flowers to us as a reminder of His love. Don't you just love that summer breeze? Is it not breezy where you live? Swing on a swing and then you'll feel it. 🙃
Now amidst all of this beauty, God has given us people too; the most beautiful creatures created in His image and likeness! Your family loves you so very much. God has also given you friends, teachers, and others. I know it has been hard not seeing so many people you care about but that does not mean you can't share the love with them. Write a friend a letter, call a family member, or visit a neighbor. Remember that all those people you care about care for you too and are always there for you even if you can't see them as much. If you need a friend, reach out to a friend. We all need friendship now more than ever.
“Christ, who said to the disciples, 'You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,' can truly say to every group of Christian friends, 'You have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another.” -C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves
God has given us friends to help us on our path to Heaven. We can encourage each other, lean on each other, share with one another, and help each other carry our crosses. Let the light of Christ shine through you and be sunshine to all you meet!
So just remember, even though the days continually roll into one another, there are many things to be thankful for; Our Lord, creation, family, friends, and their support.
If you're struggling, reach out to a friend. If you are doing alright, but see someone struggling, reach out to them. Be the sunshine in someone's life. There really is so much light and sunshine in the world if only we look for it. It doesn't have to be far. It could be just out your front door or even in your home.
