It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Hello there!

I hope you had a great weekend.  I sure did!  A dear friend stayed over at our house this weekend.  On Saturday we got together with some other friends and all went swimming together!  It definitely feels like summer is already here!

But now, I don't quite know what to blog about here.  ProBoards, Pinterest, and even Facebook are refusing to give me inspiration.   But maybe... just maybe, that's a good thing!

It's such a nice day outside, you should go enjoy it!  Is it raining?  Well, go out and dance in the rain!  Is it really hot?  Go jump in the pool or turn on the hose.  The point is, sitting on the computer takes up a lot of our time these days.  We sit, looking at our screens for hours in an online class, doing homework, writing papers, playing games, checking social media, messaging friends, even killing time.  Let's unplug and do something productive or meaningful with our free or wasted time.

So today, I want to urge you to go and do something fun.  Do something adventurous.  Do something creative. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money.  You could just set up a baseball game outside with your siblings.  It doesn't have to be crazy!  Just try to learn to knit or play a new instrument.

You don't even have to do something you've never done before.  Just throw a couple pillows down and read that book that's been sitting on your shelf forever!  Don't have any books lying around that you haven't read 100 times over?  Go write one!!  Your imagination is full of wonderful ideas.

You wish your friend was here to do something with you?  Write them a letter and mail it to them!  Get creative or crafty.  Even if you're not a great artist, adult coloring pages are a fun way to express colorful creativity!

I'm sorry this post was rather short and random.  But let's go do something!!  Above all, let all that you do be done with love {1 Corinthians 16:14}  and do all for the glory of God {1 Corinthians 10:31}!  Put your God given talents to use doing good, true, and beautiful things!

What did you do this weekend?  What are you going to do this week?  Tell me in the comments below!  God bless you and keep you, my dears!

    1. Great post! It is so true that we spend so much (too much!) time on the computer when there are other worthwhile things to do. It's a good reminder!
