Charlie Brown had it right. (Or at lest Linus did)

Christmas time is here and you can just about see it everywhere you go. Christmas lights, food,  presents, music, movies and more all seem to surround us every year. Now don’t forget  commercialism because where would Christmas be without that?! Well I’ll tell you where it would be, right at the heart of Christ and self giving! Christmas used to be different but now everything has become a way to spend money and throw everything away the day after Christmas like it was never there. You know what? Enough talk of all that let me tell you a story of a boy who understood the real meaning.

Let’s see here, I think we’ll need some snow, a dog, piano music, and a few neighborhood kids. And there! Now we got it all together so let’s keep going before I get distracted or something......
Now we don’t know all that much about Linus except that he liked to carry around a blanket and suck his thumb. He did know something else though and he decided to share it with Charlie Brown when he was in doubt about the meaning of Christmas. As you recall he told him about the shepherds in the field and when the Christmas star appeared in the sky with angels singing! The angels told them not to be afraid and instead to rejoice at the coming of the Savior in Bethlehem. All were amazed at the sight and the angels began to sing: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to people of good will! Now who could forget such a story! Sadly many do but look up now and see that not all is lost! Remember that after that story Charlie Brown went out and tried to share this with others and so should we. Ok it looks like my work here is done so I guess we’ll have to leave the snow and cold behind.

I hope you all remember that story and share the first and greatest Christmas story of all with the world. Many have forgotten or don’t even know so please remind them of Christ's birth. Enjoy this beautiful season and look out for St. Nick coming our way soon! With joyous love, Naomi Kapusinski.

Silent Night, Holy Night, All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon virgin, mother and child.
Holy Infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly peace. Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
